About the event

Do you want to tell stories in an impactful, exciting way?

Do you want to learn with a master storyteller?

Do you want to enjoy storytelling yourself while bringing its many gifts to your colleagues, groups, friends and family?

Do you want to be a vehicle for inspiration, insight, wisdom and hope and help people imagine a brighter world?  

If you are already storytelling this course will help you deepen and expand your sensitivity and technique. 

If you are beginning, you will begin with a firm foundation, tailored to your level.

The Course Content

Finding  and choosing the right stories for you to tell

Mapping and images - internalising the story 

The pleasure of language, what to emphasize, where to linger

Finding your own connections to a story.

The inner world of images and how they are conveyed.

Practice telling in many different ways.

Preparing a story for telling.

Online storytelling training.

The voice and body of the storyteller.

Where to add play with sound, voice, instruments.

Energetic awareness of the storyteller.

Reading the audience. 

Tailor made exercises and 1-1 coaching.

The experience of telling in a live, hosted online storytelling performance.

Continuous warm, constructive suggestions. 

This small group setting (max 8 people) allows for a great deal of personalized coaching, enabling your unique flow of expression and presence to shine through your storytelling. I always train the development of sensitivity, presence, connection and joy and tailor make exercises for you and the group.

Anyone who wants to tell stories in the contect of their work

Storytellers and would be storytellers

Course Requiements

You need a traditional oral story that you want to tell and have not told yet. I will give you one if needed.

Please email me for more details.  

You must be able to be at all three classes and have some time in between them to work on your story.

Who is teaching?

After many years as in theatre improvisation and clowning I met and became apprenticed to Duncan Williamson,a master indigenous storyteller of the Scottish Traveller People. For the next 31 years I have told stories in schools and nurserys schools, trained teachers, told stories in churches, trained priests, told stories in inter-faith and peace building projects, in orphanges, in environmental awarenss, in theatre and storytelling festivals, in retreats, in organisations, in conferences and online. I have worked in 35 countries and with all ages. 

What is the structure?

11 hoursof sessions, includin an online performance, feedback and reccomendations for the future.

2 x 30 minute 1-1 coaching sessions.

Tailor made suggestions for how to work on the story.

Dates/times

Storytelling Class 1 Saturday 10th April, 3-7pm CET

Between class 1 and class 2 you have homework connected to your story and its presentation

Storytelling exercises

Individual 1-1 coaching session

Storytelling Class 2 Tuesday 20th April, 6-9pm CET

Between class 2 and the performance you will prepare your story for the performance.

Individual 1-1 coaching session

Storytelling Performance 3 Saturday 24th April, 3-7pm CET

Final preparation for the online perfromance, the performance itself and feedback after the performance. 

You will also recive further recomendations in terms of developing your repertoire and how to develop your storytelling further.
