About the event
Play is a very fun, condensed, fast way to find your sparkle and freedom. You will connect deeply to yourself and others. Â Â This workshop will bring you into an ever more playful and awake state of being through an exciting combination ofÂ
movement games improvisation voice work  clowning (forget stereotypes! This is about YOU being present and in your heart)  silence. Â
The transformational magic and beauty of the workshop unfold as we collectively hold each other as community, building trust and acceptance. Â Â Transformational Play is slow enough that we experience the effect of doing things for the pure pleasure of them. There is no competition and no particular place to get to. The games and exercises provide just enough structure to allow us to play on the edge of the unknown together. The result is unexpected joy. Â
Afterwards, you are likely to feel inspired, relate authentically and love life. Come and play!   Angela Halvorsen Bogo (UK/Norway) made play her work. After years of impro, she trained in clown and physical theatre at Circus School and with Europe’s best clown teachers. She then was apprenticed to an indigenous master storyteller in Scotland. Â
For 30 years, in 25 countries she has worked in education, community arts, spiritual communities, health and personal development as a storyteller, clown, singer and retreat leader. Her work has been centred around the Fool Archetype which represents lightness and surrender to the divine/source. She currently trains medical staff and works as a clown for people with Alzheimers. Â She is a consultant using play and Social Presencing Theatre for transformative leadership in organisations.Â
www.transformationalplay.net    This is Angela’s second workshop in Portland. Last time people said,   MARVELLOUS! The experience was marvellous. A safe place to play, create and liberate oneself from the constructed self (one's beliefs and behaviours). Very freeing, combining movement, music and voice. And those silent times of being in the moment and exploring what is to come next. Every person became very special in this small amount of time. Glorious..... Kieth Olsen   I'm feeling a lot of love and pride and gratitude. Angela has a terrific sense of what was needed moment by moment, balancing structure and freedom, leading us through a variety of exercises that were challenging and fun.  Andy Kennedy   What can I say? I danced with a real angel and grew wings and let go of something I didn't need that I didn't even know I was carrying around. I'm lighter and there's one more star in my sky. Thank you Angela & everyone! Karen Holmes   It feels like a very special magical gift to find and make friends with people willing to take such risks, to be both vulnerable and strong and whose "lens" on life seems so joyfully in alignment with mine!   Cibyl Kavan
